This week we met one another, and an overview of the year’s work was provided along with expectations and an indication of a rough timescale for assessments. The class have started on the topic Number and are demonstrating each individual’s ability level so that the classwork can be matched to their level. We have been using the New Maths In Action textbooks mainly Book 1-2 but also Book 1-3.
The class have been shown the website that the school has a subscription with (www.mymaths.co.uk) and each pupil has been given a unique login and password along with a letter for their parents. A fairly straightforward homework (Multiplying by 10 & 100) has been issued on the Mymaths website with a deadline of Thursday 29th August for completion. This homework is primarily to enable the pupils to familiarise themselves with how to use this website. The work is listed under Library – Number – Multiply, Divide Mental. Please attempt this well before the deadline, so that you can seek help with any questions that you are stuck with. Remember, help is available from me before school, at lunchtimes and after school.
