4B4 – week ending 17th January

We continued work on Unit 3 – Numeracy, with ratio followed by Speed/Distance/Time work. This is on the MyMaths website under Library – Number – Ratio and Proportion – Ratio Dividing 2. The other work is under Library – Shape – Measure – Speed. We also spent one period doing some work on graphs.

The class were given a homework on the Mymaths website (Ratio Dividing 2) with a deadline of Monday 20th January for completion.

The class were reminded of the Added Value Unit test which will be during the examination period at the end of January (Friday 7th February) and that they will need to pass this as well as all the Unit Tests they have already completed. They should refer to the summary of the topics in each Unit of Mathematics as well as the Added Value Unit – National 4 for details of what they should be revising.

The class were also informed that the Unit Test on the Numeracy Unit will be the week beginning the 24th February. The pupils should refer to the summary of the topics in each Unit of Mathematics – National 4 to ensure they are clear on what will be in the test.

Some individuals were sitting their re-assessment Unit Test on the Expressions & Formulae Unit on Thursday 16th January.

The BBC Knowledge & Learning website has updated their revision pages http://www.bbc.co.uk/education/levels and it can be navigated from there to National 4, followed by the subject and in the case of Maths, it splits it up into the different units which are further subdivided into topics with revision explanations/examples and tests with multiple choice.
